Donning your FR Face Mask

Wash your hands before touching your mask.

When using a mask, be sure to wash your hands before you put the mask on and after you take it off.

Proper wear is important.

• When you put on your mask, make sure it covers your nose and mouth and fits snugly but comfortably around your face. There should be no gaps between your skin and the fabric of the mask.
  
  
• Position the top head strap and adjust to fit securely around the head when the top of the face covering lays across the bridge of your nose.
  
  
• Tie the lower straps securely behind your neck below your hairline. The bottom of the face covering should be sitting under your chin. At this point you may adjust the face covering and tighten the ties if needed.

Avoid touching the mask while it is on your face.

Don’t defeat the whole purpose of wearing a mask by constantly touching it. If there are virus particles trapped on the outside of the mask, they’ll get on your hands when you touch it. If you do have to touch it to adjust it clean your hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water, before and after touching. If your mask becomes damp, replace it with a clean dry mask.

Removing or Replacing the Mask

Carefully remove the mask by the straps. Be careful not to touch eyes, nose, or mouth when removing the face covering. Do not touch the front of mask.

 

Cleaning your FR Face Mask

Put your mask into the laundry.

Wash your masks in the washing machine to properly clean it after each use. Do not use bleach or peroxide on your FR face mask. It is not needed and will damage the flame-resistance of the mask. Be sure to follow the
laundering instructions for the FR fabric.

Wash. Your. Hands.

Wash your hands for 20 seconds with antibacterial soap after taking off mask and disposing of it in the laundry hamper.
